After the purchase of the foundation sire Swan Ironman, the reserve senior champion of Beef 2000 and 40 PTIC heifers from the Cungelella Swan Female Sale, Calioran Droughtmasters started the nucleus of their stud that now numbers over 180 registered females on the 800ha holding at Alton Downs north/northwest of Rockhampton in Queensland. The property boasts 5klms frontage to the Fitzroy River and has access to and embraces irrigation from that source. Pastures include rhodes grass, green panic, red stem couch, coastal mitchell and pangola and during drier weather, pastures are irrigated from the Fitzroy River.

Calioran Droughtmasters undertake rigorous assessment of all our stock and continue to improve the genetic pool so that fertility, soundness, weight for age, temperament and adaptability are strengthened. Weaner handling and a focus on stress free handling of stock ensure our livestock are low maintenance and easy to handle for future purchasers.
